श्यामा का असल नाम खुर्शीद था. इस नाम से उन्होंने बतौर बाल कलाकार फिल्मों में काम शुरू किया. तराना, पतंगा, सजा, गृहस्थी, शबनम जैसी कई फिल्में हैं जिसमें उन्होंने एक्स्ट्रा के तौर पर काम किया.
